Last week saw our private academic retreat with 11 writers from one school at the University of Newcastle, coming together in our Glingerbank venue in Longtown, at the top end of the Lake District. The weather was stunning, sunny but cook, so ideal writing and walking weather.
Our attendees were able to make ample use of the extensive grounds for quiet thinking time and some even braved the outdoor swimming pool.
We supported our attendees with our usual one-to-one sessions to help guide and discuss their writing projects, which, although all from the same school, were extremely diverse.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive in terms of location, facilities and how productive they were all able to be in an environment away from their usual working space.
