Lockdown Short Story Competition

During this time of crisis across the world, we have introduced a new short story competition to help keep you busy whilst we are on lockdown.

To enter, write a short story with a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 1000 words on the theme of Lockdown or Isolation. Your story can be funny, sad, inspiring, what ever you like, but it must entertain at this time when people really need to be entertained.

Prizes:

1st – personal mentoring session (via video chat) with Writer/Director, Steven Nesbit. Free annual subscription to our members-only site, worth £99, 25% discount for a nomimated Writers’ Retreat UK retreat.
2nd – Free annual subscription to our members-only site, worth £99, 25% discount for a nomimated Writers’ Retreat UK retreat.
3rd – Free annual subscription to our members-only site, worth £99.
6 additional shortlisted stories will be published on our site and read out during our planned lockdown story-time sessions.

All winning and shortlisted stories will be included in the 2020 Short Story Anthology. Every author included in the Anthology will receive a complementary paperback copy.

Each individual entry costs an admin fee of £5 per story. We are a small company looking to give a great opportunity for writers to to win some great prizes. Without the admin fee, we cannot cover the expenses of the judges or offer such great cash and discount prizes.  Particularly, at this time when our retreats have been forced to cancel, we need a little support to keep these competitions active. We appreciate your support.

The final deadline is 31st May, 2020. Timeline:

3rd April, 2019 – Competition opens for entries
30th July, 2020 – Final date for entries
August, 2020 – Winners and shortlisted stories announced
