Well, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster (cliche, I know) but we have now secured our own venue in the heart of Yorkshire and all of our writers’ retreats will now run from there. Set in the lovely village of Beal, the new retreat is close to the motorway network and is handy for both Doncaster and Selby stations. Building works are in progress and we open our new doors on 1st March, with our first mentored retreat starting on 11th March.
This is a huge move for our business and opens up a range of flexible options that just weren’t available to our lovely clients when we were hiring out venues. We can now offer longer stays and tutored retreats to supplement our popular mentored retreats.
We can accommodate 7 writers per retreat and each room has private bath/shower room facilities. The Retreat Suite is situated on the ground floor and is suitable for those with restricted mobility, too. We have a large comfortable lounge area with a warming open fire, a separate quiet bar area and a roof-top terrace. Set at the bottom of the village, it’s a short walk over the bridge and the countryside is laid there for walking.
