Writers’ Retreat UK’s very own Jan Birley (under her writing pseudonym, Josie King), had her one minute monologue performed at the Crescent Theatre, The Vaults in London yesterday in a production that centred around the gender spectrum.
SLAMinutes present a range of performance types, including, song, poetry, spoken word, plays and monologues. There were thirty, one minute performances to a packed audience.
‘You might think that writing such a short piece is easy but the real difficulty is to tell a complete story in the space of a minute,’ said Jan.
With literally thousands of submissions for each SLAMinutes performances, Jan was extremely delighted to have her piece selected and performed.
